In the men's long jump event, Lokesh joined his fellow athlete Murali Sreeshankar in the finals. Lokesh achieved a personal best of 7.77 m, finishing in seventh place. Meanwhile, Sreeshankar, who earned a silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, qualified for the final on his first attempt, clearing the automatic qualification mark of 8.00 m with a jump of 8.01 m, as reported by ESPN. Athletes who surpassed the 8.00 m mark or ranked among the top 12 advanced to the final, with Sreeshankar aiming to improve upon his previous silver medal performance from Birmingham.

Para-Swimming: Swastik Patil Reaches Final

In a positive turn for Indian para-swimming, Swastik Patil qualified for the final of the men's 100 m breaststroke SB9 event. Competing in the second heat, he finished fourth with a time of 1:15.85, securing the eighth overall position across both heats to earn his spot in the final. The top eight para-swimmers from both heats qualified for the final.
