Clerk Accused of Sexual Exploitation and Fraud
In Gonda district, a clerk employed at the treasury has been apprehended for allegedly sexually exploiting a teenager under the pretense of marriage, extorting seven lakh rupees from her, and subsequently marrying another woman.
According to police sources, the 16-year-old girl, residing in the Nagar Kotwali area, was deceived by Ashish Singh, who promised marriage but instead took advantage of her. He was arrested on Tuesday.
The police reported that the girl met Singh while visiting the treasury office for pension-related matters. Singh gained her trust by offering assistance with her pension benefits, which led to a close relationship.
During this time, he lured the victim into a physical relationship under the guise of marriage and fraudulently obtained seven lakh rupees from her. The complaint states that Singh married another woman in November of this year while keeping the victim in the dark.
Upon learning of this betrayal, the victim filed a formal complaint at the Nagar Kotwali, leading to Singh's arrest. Investigations into the case are currently ongoing.
