Clashes Erupt at Banaras Hindu University Amid Student Protests

Violent Confrontation at BHU

Late Tuesday night, a violent clash occurred between students and security personnel at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), resulting in significant property damage, including broken vehicles and chairs, as reported by officials.

According to sources, tensions escalated near the Raja Ram Hostel when a vehicle allegedly struck a female student. In response, students approached security staff to file a complaint, leading to a heated argument. The situation deteriorated further as students reportedly began throwing stones near the LD Guest House, causing damage to property. There are also unconfirmed reports of injuries among some students.

Assistant Police Commissioner Gaurav Kumar stated on Wednesday that the situation is now fully under control, and as of yet, no formal complaints have been filed by either party.
