Clashes Erupt Along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir
Gunfire Exchange in Rajouri District
On Friday night, an exchange of gunfire occurred between security forces and suspected individuals along the Line of Control in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. Military officials reported on Saturday that troops stationed at the border noticed suspicious movements, prompting them to open fire for security reasons.
According to the authorities, the shooting began around 10 PM in the Tarkundi forward area of Rajouri and lasted for approximately one and a half hours. The soldiers suspected potential terrorist activities, leading to their retaliatory actions. During this incident, gunfire was also reported from across the border. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties so far.
By Saturday morning, the army had intensified security measures throughout the area. Officials indicated that a thorough search operation was initiated to determine if any infiltrators were present in the vicinity. Continuous monitoring is being conducted to address any unforeseen situations.
