Clash in Morena, Madhya Pradesh Leaves Woman Injured
Violent Confrontation in Morena
On Monday, a violent clash between two factions in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, resulted in a 35-year-old woman sustaining injuries from gunfire, as reported by a police official. Witnesses indicated that approximately 11 gunshots were heard near the Chhoti Lalor railway crossing, with the shooting lasting around ten minutes.
According to Dipali Chandoliya, the Superintendent of Police in Morena, there has been an ongoing dispute over local dominance between the groups led by Phool Singh Jatav and Nawab Singh Jatav, which has previously led to confrontations.
The conflict escalated after Phool Singh and Nawab Singh's sons had a drunken altercation a few days prior. On Monday morning, Phool Singh, armed and accompanied by three others, approached Nawab Singh's residence, leading to a physical altercation.
The official stated that Nawab Singh and his family allegedly retaliated by attacking them and firing shots, prompting both sides to exchange gunfire. Sunita Jatav, a member of Phool Singh's group, was shot in the chest and back and was subsequently transported to the district hospital.
Due to her critical condition, doctors referred her to Gwalior for advanced treatment. Senior officials and police personnel arrived at the scene of the incident and initiated a search for the suspects. A significant police presence has been deployed in the area, and cases have been registered against members of both groups as the investigation continues.
