CJP Plans Nationwide Protests Demanding Resignation of Chief Election Commissioner

New Delhi, Sep 25: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), led by founder Abhijeet Dipke, has announced plans for nationwide protests starting October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, unless Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar resigns by Saturday.
This announcement follows the CJP's demand for Kumar's resignation within a 48-hour timeframe, threatening widespread agitation if he remains in office.
In a statement on X, Dipke declared, "Should Gyanesh Kumar fail to resign by tomorrow, CJP will initiate protests from Mumbai on October 2 and extend them to various cities across India."
He emphasized, "This Gandhi Jayanti, let us commit to preserving democracy."
During a press conference on Thursday, Dipke reiterated, "If Gyanesh Kumar does not step down within 48 hours, the Cockroach Janata Party will commence a nationwide movement. We will not relent until he resigns."
The Chief Election Commissioner has faced criticism due to reported internal conflicts within the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding issues such as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, voter data access, and new voter registrations.
Dipke accused Kumar of being a significant threat to the nation, stating, "A recent report indicates that Gyanesh Kumar, the Chief Election Commissioner, is the greatest traitor in this country. He is undermining India's democracy."
He further claimed that Kumar's leadership has compromised democratic principles, asserting, "Democracy in our nation means the people electing their government; however, since Kumar's appointment, the government has dictated who can vote and who cannot."
"You have completely distorted democracy. This is not democracy; it is autocracy. The primary culprit in this situation is Gyanesh Kumar," Dipke added.
CJP co-convenor Saurav Das also criticized the electoral system's current state during the press conference, stating, "The existing system has turned the country into a farce. It is corrupt and dysfunctional. The youth are demanding change, insisting that fundamental change is necessary."
