Protests Erupt in New Delhi

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) announced on Monday that its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, has been taken into custody by law enforcement, claiming that police used excessive force against demonstrators who were protesting peacefully.

Saurav Das, a spokesperson for CJP, took to X to call on Members of Parliament to support the students involved in the protests.

Das stated, "Dipke has been apprehended by the police," urging all MPs to lend their support to the students on the streets. He accused the police of violently suppressing and assaulting peaceful protesters.

Earlier that day, a large crowd of students, activists, and professionals assembled at Jantar Mantar, marching towards Parliament on the first day of the Monsoon Session, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The protesters, united under the CJP banner, are advocating for accountability regarding alleged discrepancies in competitive exams and ongoing issues with paper leaks.

In response, police deployed baton charges and tear gas to disperse the crowd, many of whom managed to breach the barricades set up throughout central Delhi.
