This update came during a media briefing following a review meeting led by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, focusing on the increasing instances of waterborne illnesses.

Mishra reassured the public that the situation is manageable due to prompt detection and treatment measures. He noted that the Chief Secretary has instructed officials to expedite sanitation efforts within the next ten days and enhance initiatives aimed at preventing and controlling water and vector-borne diseases. "The Chief Secretary highlighted the importance of conducting thorough house-to-house surveys for early disease detection, increasing hospital bed availability, ensuring effective treatment protocols, and guaranteeing the availability of essential medications," Mishra stated.

Additionally, water supply engineers have been tasked with the regular purification of tube wells and other drinking water sources in both rural and urban settings. District Collectors have also been directed to establish 24/7 control rooms dedicated to the survey, treatment, and management of diseases related to the monsoon season.
