Chirag Paswan, the Union Minister and leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has expressed his willingness to abide by his party's decision regarding his candidacy in the upcoming Bihar Vidhan Sabha elections. He stated, "I will respect my party's wishes. Currently, we have not yet discussed this matter...". This statement follows hints from party MP Arun Bharti about Paswan potentially running in the elections.

Party Leaders Encourage Paswan's Political Role

During a recent meeting of the state executive, Bharti mentioned that party officials formally encouraged Paswan to consider a more significant role in Bihar's political landscape. He noted, "Chirag Paswan ji has consistently stated that Bihar is central to his political agenda... The people of Bihar hold him in high regard. We have formally proposed that he contemplate a larger role in Bihar politics. We are conducting a survey, and if the results are favorable, I believe Chirag Paswan ji will seriously consider these opportunities and think about contesting the elections in Bihar."

Emphasizing Paswan's dedication to the state, Bharti remarked, "He is committed to serving the people of Bihar and focuses his political efforts on his vision for the state. Previously, Chirag Paswan stated that there is "no vacancy" for the Chief Minister position in Bihar, asserting that the current Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, will continue to lead a robust NDA government following the elections. He remarked, "There is no current vacancy for the CM role in Bihar. After the election results, under PM Modi's leadership, CM Nitish Kumar will guide a strong NDA government. The NDA will be formed after the Bihar election results."

In a notable political shift in Bihar, former Union Minister Ram Chandra Prasad Singh has merged his party, Aap Sabki Awaz (ASA), with the Jan Suraaj Party, led by Prashant Kishor, ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled for later this year. The elections are anticipated to take place in October and November, with the NDA coalition, comprising the BJP, JD(U), and LJP, aiming to regain power, while the INDIA Bloc will challenge the existing Nitish Kumar administration.
