Chirag Paswan's Concerns Over Rising Crime in Bihar

Chirag Paswan, a leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), expressed his disappointment on Saturday regarding the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar, stating that he feels troubled supporting a government that has failed to control crime. As a central minister in the NDA, Paswan remarked that the administration is completely incapable of preventing incidents of murder, kidnapping, robbery, and rape. He emphasized that the current crime wave in Bihar has left the administration powerless against criminals.

Paswan further stated that while condemning such incidents is necessary, it is crucial to understand why they are occurring. He noted a disturbing trend of escalating crimes, warning that if this continues, the situation will become dire, if it hasn't already. He accused the state government of either attempting to conceal the reality or being utterly incapable of managing the situation. He added that if the rise in crime is attributed to upcoming elections, it could be a conspiracy to tarnish the government's image, yet controlling crime remains the administration's responsibility. He questioned how criminals are evading capture, suggesting that either the administration is trying to hide the situation or is completely ineffective in handling it.

He lamented, "It pains me to support a government where crime has spiraled out of control." This statement from the LJP (RLD) leader follows a shocking incident involving a 26-year-old woman who was allegedly gang-raped inside an ambulance after losing consciousness during a physical test for a home guard recruitment campaign in Gaya. This incident occurred on July 24 and marks yet another instance of an NDA ally criticizing the law and order situation under Nitish Kumar's administration.
