Arrest of Chinese Citizen in Noida

Noida, July 28 - Authorities in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, apprehended a Chinese national last night based on a tip-off regarding his illegal residency in India. A police officer confirmed the arrest.

Inspector Vinod Kumar, in charge of the Beta-2 police station, reported that the suspect, identified as Sang Jiaomi (38), was taken into custody near NRI City.

It was revealed that he had been residing in a Greater Noida society. Upon investigation, it was found that he had entered India on a valid visa that was effective from June 26, 2019, to June 25, 2020. After the visa expired, he continued to stay in the country unlawfully.

Authorities discovered that he had fraudulently obtained a fake Aadhaar card after his visa lapsed. Using this card, he acquired a PAN card and other documents, subsequently living in JP Green Society, Greater Noida. Furthermore, it was uncovered that he had married a woman from the northeastern state of Manipur.

The couple has a three-year-old daughter, and he operates a construction company under his wife's name. Intelligence agencies are currently conducting thorough interrogations of the arrested individual to determine if he was involved in espionage activities while residing in India.
