China Reaffirms Support for Pakistan Amidst Regional Tensions

China's Commitment to Pakistan's Sovereignty
Islamabad: On Saturday, Wang Yi, the Foreign Minister of China, expressed his nation's unwavering support for Pakistan in maintaining its "sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national independence."
These remarks were made during a phone call with Ishaq Dar, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, as reported by the Foreign Office.
During their discussion, Dar provided Wang Yi with insights into the changing regional dynamics.
Wang Yi recognized Pakistan's "restraint" and commended its responsible conduct in the face of challenges.
"He reiterated that China, as Pakistan's steadfast strategic partner and loyal ally, will continue to support Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity," the Foreign Office stated.
In a separate conversation, Dar also connected with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, who expressed approval of the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India.
Additionally, Dar updated Türkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the current regional situation.
President Donald Trump announced a "full and immediate" ceasefire between India and Pakistan, attributing it to US-mediated discussions.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised the ceasefire as a US-brokered initiative, commending the leadership of Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif for their commitment to peace.
This ceasefire was declared shortly after both nations had targeted each other's military installations, escalating the ongoing conflict.
