Child Assault Incident in Gwalior Raises Concerns
Incident Overview
A disturbing incident involving an eighth-grade student in Gwalior has come to light, where the child reported being assaulted after retrieving a ball from a neighbor's rooftop.
According to reports, the child was initially subjected to humiliation before being beaten with a belt. Upon returning home in tears, he recounted the ordeal to his family. The child explained that while playing with friends, his ball accidentally landed on the neighbor's roof, prompting him to go retrieve it, only to be caught and attacked by the neighbors.
A formal complaint has been lodged regarding the incident. The child's family claims that the assault resulted in serious injuries and has adversely affected his mental well-being. The victim attends a government school and was reportedly playing cricket after returning from school.
During the game, the ball went onto the neighbor's roof. Although he called for the neighbors, no one responded. He then decided to go up himself to get the ball, but was apprehended and beaten first on the roof and then taken into a room where he was struck with a belt.
After arriving home in tears, the child disclosed the entire incident to his family, who subsequently filed a complaint against the neighbors.
On the other hand, the neighbors claim that they have been experiencing thefts of women's undergarments from their home recently, which led them to keep a watch on the roof. They allege that they saw the children touching the garments, which they say justified their actions.
