Nita Ambani, the founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, praised archer Chikitha Taniparthi for her remarkable achievements at the Asian Games 2026, where she secured two groundbreaking gold medals in compound archery. Chikitha was part of the Indian women's compound archery team, alongside Jyothi Vennam and Prithika Pradeep, who triumphed over China with a score of 238-234 in the finals, matching the world record to claim the gold. Additionally, Chikitha and Sahil Jadhav earned a spot for the Los Angeles Olympics 2028 in the mixed team event by defeating South Korea in the gold medal match.

The archery team had an exceptional campaign overall, achieving five gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze, matching the success of the 2022 Hangzhou campaign, marking India's best performance in archery.
India's Remarkable Day at the Asian Games
India experienced a phenomenal medal-winning day at the Asian Games on Saturday, capturing gold medals in men's hockey, T20 cricket, wrestling, golf, and archery. The overall medal tally reached 85, consisting of 21 gold, 27 silver, and 37 bronze medals. This marks India's second-best performance at the Asian Games, following the 2022 edition where they achieved over 100 medals for the first time, totaling 106, including 28 gold, 38 silver, and 40 bronze.
The men's hockey team concluded the day on a high note, defeating Malaysia 5-1 to defend their Asian Games title and secure qualification for the 2028 Olympics. Captain Harmanpreet Singh played a pivotal role, scoring two goals as the team clinched the gold medal. Harmanpreet found the net in the 11th and 57th minutes, while Jugraj Singh, Hardik Singh, and Shilanand Lakra also contributed to the scoreline. Malaysia's only goal was scored by Shello Silverius in the 14th minute.
