Chief Minister Launches 21 Development Projects in Mandi District

During a recent visit to Mandi district, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid the groundwork for 21 development initiatives, with a total investment of ₹136.25 crore. These projects span the Balh, Nachan, Mandi Sadar, and Karsog Assembly constituencies, focusing on enhancing road infrastructure, drinking water supply, healthcare, education, and rural development.
At Kansa Maidan in Balh, the Chief Minister launched several road improvement projects. Notable among these are the ₹10.73-crore metalling and tarring of the Chandiyal-Pipli-Kuthwari-Kandi-Tarapaur-Kharsi-Mansa Mata Temple Dola-Tikkar road, the ₹8.28-crore Sakroha-Naina Mata Temple Pipli-Nadaul-Kasla-Malwana road, the ₹5.11-crore Lakhwan-Dahanu-Bhanshot-Rathol-Andreta-Mairamseit road, and the ₹3.08-crore Tanda-Kohla-Tikkri-Kawalkot-Sidhkothi road via Baba Balak Nath Temple.
Additionally, he inaugurated the ₹3.51-crore Doyda Bridge-Chhajwan-Khabu Panchayat Ghar-Second Khabu-Darbyas road and a ₹2.08-crore divisional office building for the Public Works Department at Nerchowk. The ₹25.89-crore upgrade of the Nerchowk-Ratti-Kalkhar road was also dedicated to the community.
In terms of healthcare, the Chief Minister inaugurated an Ayurvedic Health Centre building at Behna, built at a cost of ₹32 lakh, along with a veterinary dispensary at Kothi, which cost ₹23 lakh.
A significant lift drinking water supply scheme for the IPH Sub-Division Rewalsar in Balh tehsil was also inaugurated, costing ₹43.91 crore. Another lift water supply project, amounting to ₹17.01 crore, was launched for the Bahli-Mahadev and Neri-Kangar-Panyas areas under the PIU Division in Mandi.
Other public facilities inaugurated include a ₹4.42-crore building for Government Primary School Bal in U-Block Mandi, along with Dahanu and Malthehar panchayat ghar buildings, each costing ₹38 lakh. The Mandav Rural Haat at Pandoh (Syog) was established at a cost of ₹25 lakh, and patwar khanas at Rajbari and Karsog were each built for ₹12 lakh.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation for an Ayurvedic Health Centre at Halyatar, employee accommodation at Kangni, a Panchayat Community Centre at Ratti in Balh, and a project involving FPQ provision on Sekad Khad and Behna Nala in Balh tehsil.
Sukhu emphasized that these projects would enhance essential infrastructure and public services in the targeted areas. He noted that the improved roads would facilitate better vehicular movement and strengthen the road network in Mandi district, while the drinking water initiatives would ensure a cleaner, safer, and more reliable water supply for residents.
