Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Calls for BJP Victory in Nalbari for 2026 Elections
Political Rally in Nalbari
Guwahati, June 7: On Saturday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma encouraged the residents of Nalbari to secure a complete victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the forthcoming 2026 Assembly elections by winning all three district seats.
During the inauguration of the BJP Mandal Office in Ghagrapar, Sarma remarked, “In the previous election, Nalbari voters granted us two out of three seats. This time, I am requesting all three. Given the strong backing we received in the Panchayat elections, I am optimistic about achieving this target.”
Reiterating his party's electoral strength, he stated, “With the people's support, we have triumphed in the Assembly elections twice. In 2026, we aim for a third victory, which would set a new record.”
To further enhance regional development, Sarma also inaugurated a modern, three-story Inspection Bungalow in Ghagrapar, featuring VIP and deluxe accommodations, conference rooms, offices, and ample parking.
“With the establishment of Nalbari Medical College, Ghagrapar has gained importance. The newly opened Inspection Bungalow, equipped with at least 16 rooms, will cater to the area's increasing demands,” he added.
In addition, Sarma highlighted the state's initiative to improve nutritional standards in government schools by expanding the Mid-Day Meal program in collaboration with the Akshaya Patra Foundation.
“Previously, the funds allocated for mid-day meals were inadequate for providing nutritious food. Now, through this new partnership, the government will contribute its share to Akshaya Patra, which will enhance it with additional funding, prepare meals centrally, and distribute them to schools. Following a positive response in Kamrup district, we are launching this initiative in Nalbari today,” Sarma explained.
The Chief Minister's visit to Nalbari combined political engagement with a focus on development, setting an ambitious goal of winning all three assembly seats in the district for 2026 while emphasizing the government's dedication to infrastructure and welfare projects.
