Chief Minister Saye highlighted that Bastar is undergoing significant changes due to a coordinated strategy focusing on security, trust, and development. After facing decades of Naxalite violence and developmental challenges, the region is now advancing in education, health, transportation, and tourism. The state government aims to integrate Bastar into the mainstream of development permanently.
Request for Approval of ₹10,500 Crore Urea Project
The Chief Minister urged for the swift approval of a gas-based urea project worth approximately ₹10,500 crore proposed in Rajnandgaon. He mentioned that the necessary land has been allocated and state-level approvals are in place. This project is expected to enhance fertilizer availability for farmers in Chhattisgarh and surrounding areas, boosting industrial investment and job creation.
Special Assistance for Electrification of 461 Villages
Saye also brought up the issue of 461 villages in sensitive areas, including Bastar, that have not been connected to the power grid due to security and geographical challenges. He requested special assistance from the central government to connect these villages to a permanent electricity grid, which would significantly improve education, health, and local economies.
Proposal for Establishing an Ayurveda Institute
The Chief Minister requested PM Modi to consider establishing an All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Raipur or Bastar. He emphasized the rich heritage of medicinal plants and traditional medical knowledge in Chhattisgarh, particularly in tribal areas, which could benefit from a national-level Ayurveda institution.
39 Lakh Beneficiaries from 'Bastar Vision'
Saye provided details about the 'Bastar Vision' initiative, which has implemented government schemes across 5,542 villages, benefiting around 39 lakh people. The focus is on delivering essential services like ration, health insurance, and housing to the most vulnerable populations, thereby strengthening trust in governance.
New Education Cities in Orcha and Jagargunda
The Chief Minister shared updates on educational reforms in Bastar, noting the reopening of 421 schools that had been closed due to Naxalite influence. Plans are underway to develop new education cities in Orcha and Jagargunda, aimed at providing quality education and better opportunities for children in remote tribal areas.
Expansion of Health Services
Under the 'Chief Minister Healthy Bastar Campaign', over 34 lakh health check-ups have been conducted, linking individuals to necessary medical services. The state is continuously enhancing healthcare infrastructure, including the expansion of super-specialty facilities in Jagdalpur.
Improving Connectivity in Bastar
Saye emphasized that connectivity is crucial for Bastar's sustainable development. He informed the Prime Minister about the ongoing Jagdalpur-Rawghat railway project, which is expected to significantly boost the region's economic and social development.
Promoting Bastar Dussehra as a Global Tourism Brand
The Chief Minister discussed efforts to establish Bastar Dussehra as a global tourism brand, enhancing infrastructure and facilities at world-class tourist sites like Chitrakote and Tirathgarh to attract national and international visitors.
Youth Participation in Sports
Saye noted that over 4 lakh youths participated in the Bastar Olympics, fostering a positive environment and promoting peace and social engagement through sports.
Investment Proposals Worth ₹8 Lakh Crore
The Chief Minister informed PM Modi about the rapidly changing industrial landscape in the state, with investment proposals totaling around ₹8 lakh crore following the implementation of the Industrial Development Policy 2024-30.
Chhattisgarh Ranks First in Ease of Doing Business
Saye highlighted that Chhattisgarh has established a strong national identity by creating a transparent and investor-friendly environment, achieving the top rank in the Ease of Doing Business index.
