Chhattisgarh Government Transfers Eight IPS Officers Amid Ongoing Naxalite Conflict

Government's Ongoing Battle Against Naxalites
The Chhattisgarh government continues its efforts against Naxalites, recently taking significant action by transferring eight officers from the Indian Police Service (IPS). These officers have been reassigned to bolster the state's anti-Naxal operations, as confirmed by officials on Wednesday.
This decision follows the tragic death of Akash Rao Girepunje, the Additional Superintendent of Police for the Konta area in Sukma district, who lost his life due to an IED explosion set by Naxalites on Monday.
Details of the Transfers
According to officials, all eight transferred officers belong to the 2021 IPS batch and were previously serving as City Superintendents of Police (CSP) in various districts. The state's Home Department issued the transfer orders on Tuesday evening.
As per the new assignments, Rohit Kumar Shah, CSP of Surguja, has been appointed as the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) for the anti-Naxal campaign in Sukma district. Udit Pushkar, CSP of Jagdalpur in Bastar district, will serve as ASP in Dantewada district.
Further Assignments
Additionally, Ravindra Kumar Meena, CSP of Korba, and Aman Kumar Raman Kumar Jha, CSP of Raipur, have been assigned as ASPs for the anti-Naxal campaign in Bijapur district. Akash Shirishrimal, CSP of Jagdalpur, will now serve as ASP in Bhanupratappur, Kanker district.
Ajay Kumar, CSP of Raipur's Civil Lines, and Akshay Pramod Sabdara, CSP of Bilaspur, have been designated as ASPs in Narayanpur district. Furthermore, Akash Kumar Shukla, CSP of Raigarh, has been appointed as ASP for the Special Task Force (STF) in Baghera, Durg district.
The recent transfer comes in light of the unfortunate incident where Girepunje was killed by a pressure bomb (IED) planted by Naxalites near a stone quarry in Dondra village, Sukma district, resulting in injuries to two other officers.
