Meeting to Boost Sports in Chhattisgarh
On Saturday, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai convened a meeting with the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association, engaging with its office-bearers to explore strategies for promoting sports within the state.
Post-meeting, CM Sai informed the media that discussions revolved around advancing sports initiatives in Chhattisgarh, with valuable insights shared by the association's members. He stated, "We discussed various methods to enhance sports in our state, and our office-bearers provided significant suggestions."
The Chief Minister emphasized the increased emphasis on sports since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office, noting that India has been achieving greater success in various sports disciplines. He remarked, "With the renewed focus on sports under PM Modi, our nation is securing more medals across different fields. We are committed to advancing sports in Chhattisgarh."
The meeting aimed to fortify sporting activities and elevate sports promotion in Chhattisgarh, with the association's representatives presenting their recommendations to the Chief Minister. Sai reiterated that the state government is dedicated to fostering sports development in the region.
India Set to Host 2030 Commonwealth Games
In related news, India has officially been designated as the host for the 2030 Commonwealth Games, which will take place in Ahmedabad. The Commonwealth Games Flag was ceremoniously handed over in Glasgow to Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, representing Gujarat as the host state for the upcoming event.
Sanghavi presented the Commonwealth Games Flag with due respect to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel during a recent State Cabinet meeting. The flag will remain in Gujarat until the commencement of the 2030 Commonwealth Games.
