Chennai Tragedy: Range Rover Involved in Fatal Collision Linked to College Dispute
Incident Overview
A tragic event in Chennai has drawn significant attention after a Range Rover collided with a two-wheeler, leading to the death of a college student named Nithin Sai. Among the three individuals apprehended is the grandson of a local DMK councillor.
Initially treated as an accident, investigations revealed that the collision was intentional. Reports indicate that the incident stemmed from a confrontation between two student groups regarding a romantic relationship involving a female student.
Chandru, the politician's grandson and a student himself, was reportedly called upon to help resolve the conflict, according to police sources.
In a bid to intimidate the opposing group, the occupants of the Range Rover attempted to confront them, prompting the other group to flee on motorcycles. While the intended targets, Venkatesan and his companion, escaped, the Range Rover struck another bike carrying Nithin Sai and his friend Abhishek. Nithin suffered fatal head injuries at the scene, while Abhishek was injured.
Authorities have arrested three students on murder charges, with additional charges pending. A search is underway for a fourth suspect who remains at large.
