Chaos in Kalyan: Rabid Stray Dog Launches Attack on 130 People
A Disturbing Incident in Thane District
In a shocking event in Kalyan (west), Thane district, a rabid stray dog attacked nearly 130 individuals within a span of just seven hours, leading to the hospitalization of 25 victims. Among those affected is an 11-year-old girl who suffered severe injuries and required urgent medical attention at Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital. The frightening episode began around 2 PM on Sunday when the aggressive dog targeted pedestrians, two-wheeler riders, and auto-rickshaw passengers in the vicinity of Sandeep Hotel. Witnesses and health officials from the Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) reported that the dog ambushed people from behind as they walked along the streets and alleys. The alarming situation prompted residents in areas like Birla College Road, Old RTO Office, and Bhoirwadi to remain indoors, keeping children away from outdoor activities on what was supposed to be a leisurely Sunday.
