Bhardwaj recounted that just moments before, the atmosphere was calm, but the sudden loud noise caught her off guard. Initially, she thought it might have been the sound of clattering dishes. However, seconds later, servers began rushing away with their trays, signaling that something was amiss. As the situation escalated, the entire hall became alert, with many attendees ducking under their tables for safety.
When Bhardwaj felt it was safe to rise, she noticed security agents on stage armed with long guns. Shortly thereafter, the President was swiftly escorted out, along with several senior cabinet members, including Scott Basent, Kash Patel, Pete Hegseth, and Witkoff.
Gunfire Causes Panic
