In an effort to tackle the escalating issue of chitta and other narcotics, the Chamba Municipal Council held a significant meeting today, presided over by Bhuwaneshwari Gulati, the Council President.
The session concentrated on the increasing drug crisis in the area, particularly focusing on implementing effective strategies against synthetic drugs like chitta, safeguarding the youth from addiction, and enhancing public awareness regarding the detrimental effects of narcotics.
Council President Bhuwaneshwari Gulati remarked that drug misuse poses a severe threat to society, necessitating a united response from the administration, law enforcement, municipal council, social organizations, and the community. She emphasized that mere enforcement is insufficient; ongoing awareness initiatives and engaging young people in constructive activities are equally crucial.
The discussions also underscored the importance of monitoring drug-related activities across various town areas and promptly alerting relevant departments about any suspicious occurrences. The council stressed the need for awareness campaigns aimed at educating both youth and parents about the risks associated with drug abuse.
