Neeraj Nayyar, the MLA of Chamba, served as the chief guest at the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony held at Government Postgraduate College Chamba. During this event, he recognized and honored students who excelled in academics, sports, and various co-curricular activities.



In his speech, Nayyar commended the students for their achievements and underscored the importance of education as a cornerstone for both social and national progress. He expressed confidence in the students as the future leaders of the nation, urging them to pursue their ambitions with discipline and dedication.



Nayyar also highlighted the government's dedication to enhancing educational quality in remote and underprivileged regions, noting ongoing efforts to address teacher shortages. He acknowledged the significant contributions of educators in molding students' characters and expressed appreciation to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Education Minister Rohit Thakur for introducing vital courses like MBA, MCA, M.Com, and M.A. in Sociology at the college, which allow students to pursue higher education locally.



Additionally, the MLA discussed initiatives aimed at promoting sports within the district and the various developmental projects underway. The event featured vibrant cultural performances by students, and Nayyar announced a grant of ₹11,000 to support the college.



Earlier in the ceremony, he inaugurated the expansion of the college's digital library, a project developed in memory of the late Swadesh Sharma, funded by Dr. Sukhdev Sharma with a contribution of ₹10 lakh—₹5 lakh allocated for books and ₹5 lakh for furniture. Nayyar expressed his gratitude for this generous initiative.



Principal Rakesh Rathore presented the annual report for the academic year 2025–26, and the ceremony was attended by faculty, students, and other esteemed guests.
