The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) of Chamba conducted a one-day training and awareness session at the Government Polytechnic in Chamba. This initiative aimed to equip students and participants with essential knowledge regarding disaster readiness and emergency safety protocols.




Commemorating the tragic 1905 Kangra earthquake, the program highlighted the necessity of being alert and prepared for natural calamities. Attendees engaged in practical training covering first aid, evacuation techniques, and safety protocols relevant to emergencies like earthquakes, landslides, and floods.




To boost community engagement, IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials were handed out to participants. DDMA officials urged attendees to disseminate this vital information within their families and communities to help reduce casualties and property damage during disasters.
