Chamba District Reviews Progress of 'Administration Towards Villages' Initiative
Assessment Meeting for Good Governance Week

A meeting was convened at the district headquarters in Chamba as part of the Good Governance Week to evaluate the progress of the 'Administration Towards Villages' initiative. The session was led by Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner examined the prompt and effective handling of complaints submitted via the CM Helpline, the advancement of departmental services, and the activities conducted throughout the campaign. He stressed that all complaints logged on the CM Helpline should be addressed within a 28-day timeframe, as mandated. Departments were urged to resolve as many complaints as possible during Good Governance Week to enhance the process and foster greater public confidence.
Specific directives were given to prioritize unresolved complaints from the Forest Department in the Pangi and Chamba areas. The Deputy Commissioner noted that from December 19 to 25, special camps are being organized across various subdivisions of Chamba district under this campaign, where public grievances are addressed directly, and information about government welfare programs is shared.
As part of the ongoing initiative, a district-level workshop scheduled for December 23 will focus on improving service delivery systems, ensuring swift resolution of public concerns, and enhancing collaboration between the administration and the community.
Departments such as Panchayati Raj, Urban Development, Women and Child Development, Jal Shakti, Public Works, Electricity Board, Education, and Health have been instructed to resolve the maximum number of complaints by December 26 to effectively achieve the goals of good governance.
The Deputy Commissioner also mandated that physical complaints received in offices be uploaded to the CM Helpline portal to facilitate tracking and ensure timely responses. He requested officials to monitor the portal daily to prevent unnecessary delays in addressing complaints.
In closing, DC Repaswal urged all departments to collaborate with coordination, sensitivity, and timeliness to fulfill the objectives of good governance.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate Amit Mehra, Assistant Commissioner Aparajita Chandel, SDMs Priyanshu Khati and Chandravir Singh, Deputy Director Agriculture Bhupendra Singh, Horticulture Officer Pramod Shah, along with officials from various departments.
