Financial Aid for Flood and Landslide Relief
New Delhi, July 11: On Thursday, the Central Government announced a financial package of ₹375.60 crore aimed at providing relief for the flood and landslide situations in Assam.
This allocation is part of a larger relief fund totaling ₹1,066.80 crore, which has been distributed among six states, including Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Kerala, and Uttarakhand.
Home Minister Amit Shah stated, “The Modi administration is steadfast in its support for the states during challenging times. Today, we have sanctioned ₹1,066.80 crore for states affected by floods and landslides, including Assam, as part of the Central share from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). This year, over ₹8,000 crore has been allocated from SDRF and the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to 19 states.”
Shah emphasized that beyond financial support, the government is prioritizing logistical assistance, which includes the deployment of necessary resources from the NDRF, Army, and Air Force.
In the distribution of funds, Manipur received ₹29.20 crore, Meghalaya ₹30.40 crore, Mizoram ₹22.80 crore, Kerala ₹153.20 crore, and Uttarakhand ₹455.60 crore.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Central Government is dedicated to providing comprehensive assistance to states affected by floods, landslides, and cloudbursts. The Modi government is unwavering in its support for the states,” the Home Ministry added.
