Celebrations Erupt in Kashmir Following US-Iran Ceasefire Announcement
Joyful Celebrations in Kashmir
Following the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, various locations in Kashmir are witnessing jubilant celebrations, with many declaring it a "victory" for Iran. In particular, hundreds gathered in the Shia-majority areas of the valley to celebrate the ceasefire. Celebrations were reported in regions such as Saidakadal and Zadibal in Srinagar, as well as in the districts of Budgam, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Pulwama, and Bandipora.
Waving Iranian flags, the crowd expressed their joy over the ceasefire announcement, lighting firecrackers and sharing Kashmiri kehwa as part of the festivities. Many locals referred to this ceasefire as a triumph for Iran, stating, "This ceasefire is a victory for Iran. They have forced the US and Israel to back down. Today, we celebrate this victory." Kashmiri leaders have also welcomed the ceasefire, questioning what the US has gained from this conflict.

Previously, large fundraising events were organized in Kashmir to show solidarity with Iran, where people donated money and valuable items to assist the Iranian populace. It is noteworthy that Kashmir shares deep cultural, linguistic, and religious ties with Iran, often referred to as 'Iran-e-Sagheer' (Little Iran).
