A Milestone Birthday

Today, June 5, marks the 54th birthday of Yogi Adityanath, a prominent figure in Hindutva. He has evolved from the head of the Gorakhnath Peeth to a skilled politician. By effectively managing the Gorakhnath Peeth, he has dismantled the plans of mafia elements that hinder development in Uttar Pradesh, using his bulldozer as a symbol of action. Yogi Adityanath has successfully navigated through various obstacles on the path of progress. Let's explore some intriguing aspects of his life on this special occasion.

Early Life and Family Background

Yogi Adityanath, born as Ajay Bisht in a Garhwali Rajput family in Panchur village, Pauri Garhwal district, hails from a lineage that includes his father, Anand Singh Bisht, and mother, Savitri Devi. He completed his B.Sc. in Mathematics from Srinagar Garhwal University. During his academic journey, he visited Gorakhpur, where on February 15, 1994, he received initiation from the late Mahant Avedyanath. This marked the transition from Ajay Bisht to Yogi Adityanath.

Political Journey

In the 1996 Lok Sabha elections, he managed the campaign for Mahant Avedyanath. By 1998, Avedyanath declared him as his successor and nominated him for the Lok Sabha. At just 26 years old, Yogi Adityanath began his political career, earning the distinction of being one of the youngest MPs. Upon taking charge as the successor of Guru Gorakhnath Temple, he also assumed responsibilities for schools and colleges under the Maharana Pratap Education Council and the Gorakhnath Peeth.

Rebellious Stance within BJP

During the 2007 assembly elections and the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, there was turmoil within the BJP's top leadership. Yogi Adityanath displayed a rebellious attitude regarding the party's declining reputation. Due to the BJP's lenient approach towards him in the 2007 assembly elections, he announced candidates from the Hindu Yuva Vahini, causing a stir in political circles. This prompted the party leadership to recognize his significance, allowing him to establish his influence in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Purvanchal, ultimately benefiting the BJP.

Taking Oath as Chief Minister

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Yogi Adityanath played a pivotal role as a star campaigner, winning from Gorakhpur and solidifying his influence. Following the 2017 assembly elections, he took the oath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on March 19, 2017. He became a game changer by leading campaigns across several states, ensuring victories for BJP candidates. His commitment to Hindutva remains unquestionable.

Recent Achievements

In the 2022 assembly elections, he achieved victory in all nine seats of Gorakhpur, contributing to record wins across Purvanchal and Uttar Pradesh. His leadership has garnered hope from people of all castes, religions, and classes. With this foundation, Yogi Adityanath has successfully completed four years of his second term, and his stature continues to rise. Many in Uttar Pradesh and across the nation view him as a capable politician and a potential future Prime Minister.
