General Upendra Dwivedi Commemorates Veterans Day
On the occasion of the 10th Veterans Day, General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff, extended his warm wishes and paid tribute to former soldiers and their families, emphasizing their ongoing contributions to the nation. During the ceremony held in Jaipur, he expressed his heartfelt greetings to all attendees, stating, 'First and foremost, I wish to honor all our veterans. I salute the families of our brave female soldiers. Every soldier will eventually become a veteran; we are all part of the same ecosystem.'
Highlighting the Role of Veterans
General Dwivedi underscored the significant role played by veterans during critical times, particularly praising their efforts during Operation Sindoor. He expressed pride in the overwhelming positive feedback received, stating, 'You all provided invaluable support during Operation Sindoor, and the nation honors your courage.'
Veterans' Contributions to National Security
The Chief Minister also highlighted the increasing involvement of veterans in private security and the National Cadet Corps (NCC), stressing their contributions to nation-building. He noted that while veterans are providing private security, they are also establishing a distinct identity within the NCC. 'I can proudly say that our veterans are playing a crucial role in laying the foundation for a developed India,' he added. The Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO) is taking significant steps for the rehabilitation of soldiers post-retirement.
