On Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with other dignitaries, participated in yoga exercises in Gorakhpur to mark the 11th International Yoga Day. He welcomed everyone and emphasized that Yoga Day is celebrated not only in India but across the globe. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting yoga on an international scale.


A Message of Health and Unity

While addressing the public, Yogi Adityanath stated, "Today, we are celebrating Yoga Day in Gorakhpur. Local ministers, MPs, and fellow citizens are all participating. I extend my greetings to everyone. This event is happening not just here but throughout the country and the world. In Visakhapatnam, Prime Minister Modi is spreading the message of yoga. I wish everyone a happy 11th International Yoga Day."


Yoga for a Healthy Mind and Body

Yogi Adityanath highlighted that yoga not only promotes a healthy body but also contributes to a healthy mind. The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated across the state, including at the Raj Bhavan in Lucknow, where Governor Anandiben Patel joined participants. Special yoga sessions began at 6 AM at designated locations statewide, focusing on the theme "One Earth, One Health through Yoga."


Promoting Yoga's Global Appeal

During the collective yoga session at Mahant Digvijay Nath Smriti Bhawan in Gorakhpur, Chief Minister Adityanath remarked, "Yoga is a mantra from India's ancient tradition that provides us with both a healthy body and a sound mind." He congratulated everyone on International Yoga Day and noted that Indian tradition has long educated us about yoga.


Yoga: A Gift from India's Ancient Tradition

He further explained that any spiritual or worldly achievement requires a healthy body. "Yoga is a gift from India's ancient sages, which has paved the way for global welfare through public good. This is a long-standing tradition with various dimensions," he added.


Encouraging Regular Practice

Yogi Adityanath mentioned that various programs were organized across the state for International Yoga Day, with participation from ministers and officials. Inspired by Governor Anandiben Patel, the celebrations at Raj Bhavan in Lucknow began enthusiastically at 6 AM, where she joined a large group of yoga practitioners, officials, and citizens.


A Call to Action

In her address, Governor Patel encouraged everyone to practice yoga regularly, suggesting they start at home by waking up at 5 AM. She expressed her belief that this is a noble endeavor. According to an official statement, the Uttar Pradesh government made extensive preparations for the 11th International Yoga Day, developing over 100 yoga parks for the occasion.
