On Sunday, Daksh Public School in Arthi buzzed with enthusiasm as the community came together to celebrate International Yoga Day, promoting healthy living and mental wellness.
The event, organized collaboratively by Mandavya Kala Manch, Art of Living, and Daksh Public School, saw participation from students, educators, local residents, and dignitaries, all united in recognizing yoga as a vital practice for holistic health.
Kuldeep Guleria, a retired District Public Relations Officer and founder of Mandavya Kala Manch, addressed the attendees, emphasizing yoga as one of India's most significant contributions to the world. He described it as more than just a physical activity, but a comprehensive science that aligns the body, mind, and spirit.
He stated, “Yoga is an essential aspect of our cultural legacy. Incorporating it into our daily routines can lead to a healthier, happier, and more balanced existence. The mantra ‘Do Yoga, Stay Healthy’ should be embraced by everyone.”
Uma Guleria, a seasoned instructor from Art of Living, led a practical yoga session, guiding participants through various asanas, pranayama, and meditation practices. She underscored the numerous benefits of consistent yoga practice, including enhanced immunity, stress reduction, improved focus, and inner tranquility.
In a noteworthy pledge, all attendees committed to rejecting substance abuse in any form and vowed to advocate for a drug-free community.
The event also showcased patriotic performances by Mandavya Kala Manch artists, whose vibrant acts inspired a sense of national pride among the audience.
Kamal Sharma, Director of Daksh Public School, expressed appreciation for the organizers and participants, highlighting yoga as a timeless discipline that fosters positivity, discipline, and overall wellness. He noted the importance of community initiatives in encouraging the youth to embrace healthier lifestyles.
The gathering was further supported by former BDC Chairperson Anjana Rawat, Mandal Panchayat Vice-President Surender Kumar, and other prominent local figures, all endorsing the event's message of wellness and social responsibility.
