Celebrating Guru Purnima: Baba Ramdev Emphasizes India's Spiritual Leadership

Guru Purnima Celebrations at Patanjali Yogpeeth

The Guru Purnima festival, which embodies the Guru-disciple tradition, was observed with great devotion at Patanjali Yogpeeth. During the event, Swami Ramdev, the founder and president of Patanjali Yogpeeth, along with general secretary Acharya Balkrishna, exchanged garlands and extended greetings to one another. Baba Ramdev highlighted this day as a chance to reinforce Sanatan Dharma as Yugdharma, emphasizing that the festival reflects the essence of India's Rishis, Vedas, and the Guru-disciple relationship.

Speaking to students at Patanjali University during a program held at the Yoga Bhavan Auditorium in Patanjali Wellness Yogpeeth-2, Baba Ramdev urged them to embody the values and divinity of sages, which he believes will foster a new global consciousness.

He pointed out that while there is a global competition for dominance, it should be rooted in truth, yoga, spirituality, and justice. In today's world, where religious extremism and various forms of terrorism are on the rise, Baba Ramdev asserted that India is poised to guide the world in education, healthcare, economy, society, and politics.

Acharya Balkrishna remarked that Guru Purnima signifies the significance of the Guru-disciple tradition, which holds true only when disciples respect their Gurus and adhere to their teachings. He expressed confidence that India is on the verge of reclaiming its status as a global leader through Yoga, Ayurveda, and Vedic wisdom.

N.P. Singh, Executive Chairman of the Indian Education Board, noted that Patanjali is initiating a transformative wave in education.

Additionally, Patanjali Yogpeeth organized an Akhand Bhandara for Kanwar pilgrims, where Baba Ramdev personally served meals to Shiva devotees.
