The Government High School Dhalog recently hosted its annual prize distribution ceremony, which was marked by great enthusiasm and presided over by Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania.
During the event, the Speaker inaugurated a newly built additional school building, which was constructed at a cost of ₹40.53 lakh. He also recognized outstanding students who excelled in both academics and extracurricular activities throughout the year.
Emphasis on Comprehensive Development
In his speech, Pathania commended the students' accomplishments and stressed the importance of engaging in sports, cultural, and creative pursuits for their overall development. He noted the state government's ongoing initiatives to enhance educational quality, highlighting that under Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's leadership, Himachal Pradesh has improved its national education ranking from 21st to 5th.
Government Support for Orphaned Children
Pathania reaffirmed the government's dedication to social welfare, mentioning that approximately 6,000 orphaned children in the state are receiving financial aid, protection, education, and support for a brighter future. He pointed out that this marks a historic moment, as it is the first time a government has taken full responsibility for the comprehensive development of orphaned children in the country.
Development Initiatives in Bhatiyat
The Speaker also discussed the ongoing development projects in the Bhatiyat Assembly constituency, particularly focusing on road construction to connect all villages. He assured the community that necessary departmental procedures are being finalized to enhance road access throughout the area. He credited previous Congress administrations for bolstering the region's infrastructure.
Commitments for School Enhancements
In response to requests from the school management, Pathania announced funding for a boundary wall and a playground. Additionally, he pledged ₹21,000 to support cultural activities within the school.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of a lamp, followed by a warm welcome from the school management committee and local residents. Students showcased vibrant cultural performances reflecting Hindi, Punjabi, and Himachali folk traditions.

Cluster Principal Pritam Singh Thakur presented the annual report of the school. The event was graced by the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Sharma, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil) Anil Bhardwaj, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjan Sharma, Divisional Forest Officer Rajneesh Mahajan, Deputy Director of School Education Quality Bhag Singh, Executive Engineer Rakesh Thakur, Block Development Officer Anil Gurada, local Panchayat Pradhan Sudesh Kumari, along with other officials, students, parents, and prominent local figures.
