National Recognition for Manjari V. Mahajan

Among the distinguished honorees is Manjari V. Mahajan, Principal of PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School in Sujanpur Tihra, who has been awarded the National Teachers’ Award 2026.


Her achievements include implementing innovative educational practices, enhancing school management, advocating for environmental initiatives, and focusing on the comprehensive development of her students. This accolade places a Himachal educator in the spotlight at the national level.


Honoring Technical Education Contributors

The event will also recognize five educators from the technical education sector, including Dr. Vivek Kumar Sharma from Pharmacy College in Nagrota Bagwan and Dr. Ritesh Kaundal from J.N. Government Engineering College in Sundernagar, along with instructors from ITIs in Padhar and Mandi.

Sneh Lata from Bilaspur has dedicated her efforts to empowering young female athletes from rural backgrounds, helping them excel in sports at national and international levels.


In Hamirpur, Jagdish Kumar has mentored over 100 athletes who have successfully secured government jobs, demonstrating the importance of sports education in creating career pathways.

The contributions of teachers are especially vital in the remote and rugged terrains of Himachal Pradesh.


Khengchog Jangpo from Lahaul-Spiti has worked tirelessly to ensure that education continues for students despite harsh weather conditions.


In Hamirpur, physical education teacher Rakesh Singh has spent nearly two decades training students across various sports, fostering a strong sports culture at the grassroots level.


Emphasis on Science, Environment, and Innovation

Purnima Kumari from Hamirpur has been instrumental in connecting students with science, environmental conservation, and innovation, encouraging them to explore issues beyond the standard curriculum.


The awards also acknowledge teachers who have improved school infrastructure and learning environments. Roshni Devi, a head teacher from Solan, has been pivotal in mobilizing School Management Committees and facilitating the construction of buildings for three primary schools.


Srishti Sharma from Sirmaur is being honored for the second time for her efforts in promoting innovation in schools and enhancing academic facilities for students.
