New Delhi, July 13: In celebration of the 88th Raising Day of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the government has invited citizens to engage in various interactive activities to honor the bravery and dedication of the force's members.
This initiative, launched via the government's citizen engagement platform, encourages individuals nationwide to participate in competitions, quizzes, and a special Citizen's Pledge, recognizing the contributions of the largest Central Armed Police Force in India.
In a message shared on X, the government stated, "Celebrate CRPF@88 A Legacy of Service and Loyalty with #MyGov and pay tribute to the fearless men and women of the CRPF. Join in activities that honor their unmatched courage and commitment to preserving India's unity and security."
Founded on July 27, 1939, the Central Reserve Police Force is the largest Central Armed Police Force in India. With its motto, "Service and Loyalty," the CRPF has been crucial in maintaining internal security and has undertaken various operational responsibilities over the years.
Emphasizing the importance of the Raising Day, the government noted on its official website, "To celebrate this historic event, we invite citizens from all backgrounds to engage in exciting competitions, quizzes, and a Citizen's Pledge. Join us in honoring the brave men and women of the CRPF, showcasing your creativity, testing your knowledge, and expressing gratitude to the Force that steadfastly protects India's unity and integrity."
Over the years, the CRPF has evolved into one of the most formidable security forces in the country, serving as a cornerstone of India's internal security framework.
The force plays a vital role in safeguarding national unity, integrity, and sovereignty while addressing a wide range of security challenges.
With a vast network of operational and administrative units across the nation, including specialized groups like the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), the CRPF has made significant strides in combating terrorism and Left Wing Extremism, maintaining law and order, ensuring peaceful elections, providing humanitarian aid during crises, and fostering national integration.
The government also acknowledged the tremendous sacrifices made by CRPF personnel throughout its illustrious history. An official statement highlighted the legacy of the organization, marked by the extraordinary courage and commitment of 2,270 brave individuals who lost their lives in service to the nation.
