CBSE Announces Class-X Exam Dates


New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revealed the timetable for the second round of Class-X board examinations, scheduled from May 15 to May 21.


As per the datesheet released by CBSE, the examination period will kick off with the mathematics papers (both standard and basic) on May 15, followed by English (communicative) and English (language and literature) on May 16.


The science exam is set for May 18.


On May 19, students will take exams in various languages and elective subjects, including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, and several foreign languages. Additionally, home science and select vocational courses will also be assessed on this day.


May 20 will see students tackling papers in Sanskrit, painting, information technology, and artificial intelligence, with social science concluding the exam series on May 21.


This datesheet was published by Sanyam Bhardwaj, the controller of examinations, just a week after the CBSE announced the results for the first round of Class-10 board exams.


Starting in 2026, the CBSE will conduct Class-X board exams biannually. The first exam in February is compulsory, while the second, taking place in May, is optional for students wishing to improve their scores or clear any failed subjects.


Students are allowed to attempt up to three subjects in the second examination and can retain their highest score, as per CBSE guidelines.
