CBSE Extends Deadline for Class 12 Answer Sheet Verification: What Students Need to Know
Important Update for Class 12 Students
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to extend the deadline for Class 12 students who wish to verify or re-evaluate their answer sheets.
Originally set for June 6, the new deadline is now June 7 at midnight, as confirmed by CBSE officials on Friday.
This extension aims to assist students who encountered technical issues while trying to access the online portal, as well as to manage the influx of applications following the announcement of results.
The verification and re-evaluation process is essential for students, allowing them to confirm that their answer sheets have been accurately assessed.
Students must first apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets before they can request a verification of marks or a re-evaluation of specific questions.
This approach is intended to enhance transparency and instill confidence in the evaluation process.
This year, CBSE has implemented the On-Screen Marking system on a broader scale to minimize human error and boost efficiency.
However, numerous students have reported problems, including unclear scanned copies and missing markings, which have led to a surge in re-evaluation requests.
Over seventy thousand applications have already been submitted, highlighting the demand and the significance of the deadline extension.
The fee structure has been adjusted to make the process more affordable, with students required to pay a small fee for verification and a fee per question for re-evaluation.
Once the re-evaluation is finalized, the awarded marks will be conclusive, with no option for further appeals.
CBSE has encouraged students to be mindful of the updated schedule and to submit their applications before the new deadline.
Additionally, the Board has set up a helpline to assist students and parents with any inquiries, ensuring a smooth and supportive process.
This extension serves not only as a logistical change but also as a reassurance to students that their concerns are acknowledged.
Given that results significantly influence higher education admissions, the anticipated re-evaluation outcomes by July will be crucial in restoring trust in the new digital evaluation system and reaffirming CBSE's dedication to fairness and transparency.
