CBSE Addresses Misinformation on Exam Results

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has refuted claims circulating on social media and various news outlets regarding the announcement of Class X and Class XII board exam results this Friday.

A senior official from CBSE clarified on Thursday that the board has not yet determined the date for the results and no formal announcement has been made.

Students and their families are advised to disregard misinformation and rely solely on the official CBSE websites — cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and results.cbse.nic.in — for reliable updates.

Results Anticipated in May

Historically, CBSE tends to release results in the second week of May. For instance, in 2024, results were announced on May 13, and officials predict a similar schedule this year.

Any claims suggesting that results will be available on May 2 or earlier are incorrect.

In 2025, over 44 lakh students participated in the CBSE examinations, with around 24.12 lakh from Class X and 17.88 lakh from Class XII. Results for both classes are expected to be released simultaneously.

Once the results are published, students can access and download their provisional marksheets using their roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth. Original marksheets will be distributed through schools.

Last year, the pass percentage for Class XII was 87.98%, while Class X recorded a pass rate of 93.60%, reflecting an increase of 0.48 percentage points compared to 2023.

CBSE has emphasized the importance of waiting for an official announcement and not relying on unverified information.
