The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a charge sheet against four Punjab police officers in a Mohali court concerning an alleged attack on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath that occurred in March. Sources have confirmed this development.

Among those charged is Inspector Ronnie Singh, along with three other police officials. This action follows nearly five months after the Punjab and Haryana High Court assigned the investigation of the case to the CBI in July.

Details of the Incident

The alleged incident took place during the night of March 13 and 14, when Colonel Bath and his son were dining at a roadside eatery in Patiala. Colonel Bath accused certain police personnel of assaulting him and his son over a parking dispute.

As a result of the altercation, Colonel Bath suffered a broken hand, while his son sustained a head injury. Bath has claimed that a fair investigation by the Punjab police is impossible.
