Robbery Incident in Chanakya Puri

A disturbing incident unfolded in the Chanakya Puri area of New Delhi, where a car showroom manager was robbed of ₹30 lakh by individuals posing as Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials. This event took place on June 20, as reported by local police on Tuesday.

According to the Delhi Police, the victim, identified as Anil, was returning home after completing his work shift when his vehicle was stopped by several men. One of the suspects was dressed in a police uniform, while another was in civilian attire. They claimed to be ED agents and accused the showroom of being involved in illegal hawala transactions. The impersonators threatened Anil with a notice from the ED, insisting he would need to report for questioning.

The suspects then transported Anil to the Rajokri area, where they stole ₹30 lakh in cash from his car. After the robbery, they fled the scene, warning Anil that he would be summoned to the ED office. Following Anil's report, the Chanakya Puri police initiated an investigation and apprehended two suspects.

In a separate incident, a 17-year-old boy named Aryan was injured in a shooting near Azadpur Terminal, under the jurisdiction of the Adarsh Nagar Police Station. The Delhi Police confirmed on Tuesday that a case has been filed and an investigation is ongoing. Neetu, Aryan's mother and a witness, recounted the event from the trauma center, stating that three armed youths suddenly appeared and opened fire.

She explained, 'My son Aryan, along with Ranjeeta and Nikhil, was standing on the footpath near the Foot Overbridge, opposite the main gate of MCD Colony, Azadpur, when the attack occurred.' She further detailed that the assailants, identified as Laddu, Shamsher, and Shanu from Jahangirpuri, fired at them, resulting in Aryan sustaining two bullet wounds. He was promptly taken to the Trauma Centre with help from the Azadpur picket staff. Following this incident, a Crime Team and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) were dispatched to the scene. An FIR (No. 564/25) has been lodged under various sections of the BNS and the Arms Act, with a search operation currently in progress to apprehend the suspects.
