The violent protests by factory workers in the industrial zones of Gautam Buddh Nagar have subsided in recent days. Thanks to the proactive intervention of law enforcement and government officials, the situation is now fully under control. Noida Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh confirmed that the primary demands of most workers have been accepted, leading them to return to their jobs.

Agreements Reached with Companies

In a conversation with a news media outlet, Commissioner Singh stated that the timely actions of the administration and government resulted in the acceptance of the workers' key demands. Companies have agreed to several requests, including wage increases, ensuring overtime payments, and forming committees to address issues related to sexual harassment. Notices reflecting the revised wages have been posted outside factories and company premises, helping to restore workers' confidence and encouraging their return to work.

Legal Actions Taken

Authorities reported that strict surveillance is being maintained across the area, with ongoing patrols in sensitive locations. So far, seven FIRs have been filed in connection with the unrest, and several individuals have been arrested. Officials have also identified certain social media accounts that were allegedly created to incite workers and escalate tensions.

Involvement of Outsiders

Commissioner Singh further noted that some of those detained were not regular employees of the factories, while others had recently joined and are suspected of inciting the protests. Officials hinted that some individuals involved may have come from other states. When questioned about potential links to external elements, including any connections to Pakistan or Bangladesh, the commissioner stated that no definitive conclusions have been reached yet. The investigation is ongoing, and clarity will emerge after thorough inquiries.

Appeal for Peace

In a call for calm, the police commissioner urged the public to disregard rumors and maintain peace. Senior police officials, including the commissioner, are actively patrolling the Noida Phase 2 area to ensure that the situation remains under control and normalcy is fully restored.
