Demand for Enhanced Security Measures in Examination System
On Tuesday, Anand Kumar, the founder of Super 30, expressed the need for stricter regulations on coaching centers and enhanced security measures in the examination system following the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam due to alleged irregularities. He emphasized that recurring controversies surrounding competitive exams negatively impact students' morale. The National Testing Agency (NTA) decided to cancel the NEET-UG 2026 exam just nine days after it was scheduled for May 3, stating that new dates for the rescheduled exam would be announced separately. This year, approximately 22 lakh students participated in NEET-UG, which serves as the gateway for undergraduate medical admissions across India. Reacting to the cancellation, Kumar described it as extremely unfortunate and urged students to remain patient.
Reassurance for Students Amidst Uncertainty
In an interview with a private media outlet, Kumar lamented the unfortunate nature of the incident, noting that such occurrences diminish students' spirits. He also mentioned that it is a relief that the individuals involved in the alleged misconduct have been identified and apprehended. Kumar advised students to stay strong and optimistic, as they have another opportunity ahead. Nitin Vijay, founder of Motion Education, also urged students and parents not to panic following the exam's cancellation. During a phone conversation with a media channel, Vijay reassured, “Please do not panic or feel disheartened. Students and parents should remain calm.”
Need for Stringent Monitoring of Coaching Centers
Anand Kumar further called on the government to implement stringent security measures to prevent such incidents in future examinations. He stated, “The government must take strict action to ensure that this does not happen again.” When questioned about the potential involvement of coaching centers in the alleged irregularities being investigated by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG), Kumar emphasized the necessity for rigorous regulation of coaching institutions. He highlighted the importance of enforcing rules strictly and suggested that the government should adopt stringent measures similar to those implemented in China. Kumar referenced the robust anti-cheating and examination fairness measures adopted in recent years for the highly competitive Gaokao, China's national college entrance examination.
