Call for Improved Healthcare in Nurpur: Local Leaders Criticized

During a press briefing today at the Ranjit Bakshi Jan Kalyan Sabha office in Jasur, President Akil Bakshi expressed strong discontent regarding the declining health services in Nurpur. He provided statistical evidence to underline the issues and accused local officials of prioritizing politics over urgent healthcare needs.

Bakshi claimed that the current MLA, Ranbir Singh Nikka, who also leads the Rogi Kalyan Samiti, has not delivered on his commitments to the community. He highlighted the lack of essential medical equipment and facilities, which has left the health system in Nurpur grappling with fundamental inadequacies.

Addressing the long-standing demand for a Mother & Child Hospital, Bakshi criticized successive governments for merely offering promises without taking real action. He pointed out that neither the current nor previous administrations have ensured the hospital's operational status, leaving residents without crucial healthcare services.

Bakshi also directed his criticism at former MLA Ajay Mahajan, accusing him of confining his contributions to mere political speeches. He referred to Mahajan as “Mr. India”, questioning his infrequent public appearances, which occur only once every four years. Bakshi urged the public to demand accountability from their leaders regarding unfulfilled commitments.

Taking a firm position, Bakshi declared that if the Mother & Child Hospital is not fully operational within two months, the Sabha will organize a hunger strike outside the hospital on October 2, 2026 (Gandhi Jayanti).

He reiterated that the Sabha's goal is not to oppose individuals but to advocate for improved healthcare for the residents of Nurpur. If necessary changes are not implemented, the organization will persist in its efforts through peaceful and democratic means.
