Demand for Action Against Punjab CM

On Wednesday, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa called for the arrest of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. His demand arose from a controversial video that allegedly disrespects images of Sikh Gurus. Sirsa accused both Mann and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of remaining silent on the issue. He also claimed that those who submitted the forensic report should face arrest and legal action, suggesting an attempt to suppress a matter that offends Sikh sentiments.

Press Conference Highlights

During a press conference, Sirsa expressed frustration over the silence of Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal regarding the issue. He questioned when a case would be filed against Mann and when the Chief Minister would be arrested, emphasizing the gravity of the alleged offense and the efforts to cover it up with financial and police support.

Police Action in Viral Video Case

In a related development, Gurugram police have arrested two individuals for allegedly manipulating a forensic report linked to the viral video involving Chief Minister Mann. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Naveen Sharma confirmed that the suspects received ₹10 lakh from Punjab officials to alter the video. The police are currently interrogating the suspects, one of whom is identified as Ankit, a cyber expert working on contract with the NIA, while the other is named Arun.

Bhagwant Mann Responds to Allegations

Following a summons from the Akal Takht regarding the video that allegedly insults Sikh Gurus, Mann described the situation as a "well-planned conspiracy" and denied being the person depicted in the video. He asserted that the individual in question is an actor resembling him and instructed the Director General of Police (DGP) to identify and apprehend the actual culprit.
