Court Directs Health Department on Blood Donation Camps

On August 7, the Calcutta High Court instructed the West Bengal government's health department to submit a report by August 14 regarding an order that prohibits a blood bank from organizing voluntary blood donation camps until an investigation is concluded. The 'Life Care Medical Foundation' challenged the directive issued by the joint director of the state health department (State Blood Transfusion Council and Blood Transfusion Service), which mandated that the organization refrain from conducting voluntary blood donation camps outside until the ongoing inquiry by the West Bengal State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC) is completed.

Justice Krishna Rao directed the authorities to file their report by August 14. The court also granted the petitioner organization the opportunity to submit their objections to the officials' arguments by August 18. The next hearing on this matter is scheduled for August 19.
