Burj Khalifa Evacuated Amid Explosions in UAE Due to Rising Tensions
Evacuation of Burj Khalifa Following Explosions
On Saturday, February 28, the Burj Khalifa, recognized as the tallest structure globally, was evacuated after reports of explosions in the United Arab Emirates, coinciding with heightened tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Tehran has initiated a significant counter-offensive aimed at US military installations across the Middle East.
Residents in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai experienced panic as explosions echoed through the cities. It is important to note that the Al-Dhafra Air Base in the UAE is home to US military personnel.
In response to the situation, the UAE's Ministry of Defense disclosed that the nation faced a direct assault involving Iranian ballistic missiles. The ministry confirmed that the UAE's air defense systems effectively intercepted several of these missiles.
Tragically, debris from the intercepted missiles led to the death of one civilian of Asian descent. Authorities have reassured the public that the security situation in the UAE remains stable, with continuous monitoring of developments by relevant agencies.
The Ministry of Defense condemned the missile attack, emphasizing the UAE's firm stance against any assaults on civilian infrastructure and national institutions.
