Burglary at Sangeeta Bijlani's Residence


In a recent incident, thieves broke into the bungalow of former actress Sangeeta Bijlani located in the Pawandharan area, making off with a television valued at ₹7,000 and cash amounting to ₹50,000, bringing the total loss to ₹57,000.


The property, situated in the Tikona Peth region of Pune district, had been unoccupied for four months. A report has been filed at the Lonavla Rural Police Station by Mohammed Mujeeb Khan, who is employed privately by Bijlani.


The theft was uncovered on July 18, 2025, when Bijlani returned to her bungalow around 9:30 AM. The intruders accessed the house from the back and stole items from the first floor.


As of now, the suspects remain unidentified, and an official comment from Bijlani regarding the incident is still pending. The actress is known for her active presence on social media, where she shares glimpses of her life with her followers. Recently, she celebrated her 65th birthday, which was attended by Bollywood star Salman Khan.


Sangeeta Bijlani, who began her modeling career at 16, gained fame after winning the Miss India Universe title in 1980. She represented India at the Miss Universe pageant in Seoul, South Korea, where she received the Best National Costume award, designed by her mother, Poonam Bijlani.


Her acting career commenced in 1988 with the film Qatil, alongside Aditya Pancholi, and she subsequently appeared in notable films such as Tridev, Hathyar, Jurm, Yodha, Yugandhar, Izzat, and Lakshman Rekha. Bijlani also starred in a bilingual film in Hindi and Kannada opposite Vishnu Vardhan and collaborated with directors like Mahesh Bhatt and J.P. Dutta. Her last appearance on screen was in the 1996 action thriller Nirbhay, directed by Vinod Dewan, which featured actors such as Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher.
