BRS Leader Criticizes Telangana CM Over Political Claims in Kerala
Accusations Against Telangana's Chief Minister
On Wednesday, Rao Shridhar Reddy, a prominent figure in the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of making politically motivated and contradictory statements during his campaign in Kerala. Reddy claimed that the Chief Minister was taking undue credit for the economic achievements realized during K. Chandrashekar Rao's decade-long administration.
Speaking to a news outlet, Reddy emphasized that Revanth Reddy's remarks during the Kerala campaign were not only contradictory but also served his political interests. He pointed out that while Revanth Reddy highlighted Telangana's leading position in per capita income, electricity consumption, and GSDP growth as his accomplishments, these results were actually the outcome of long-term planning by the previous government.
Debate Over Achievements and Governance
Reddy further clarified that these achievements were not realized in the last year and a half but were the result of a solid foundation laid by KCR over the past ten years. He stated that Telangana has excelled in various sectors due to strong groundwork, precise planning, and careful execution. Questioning the Chief Minister's logic, Reddy remarked, "Today, Revanth Reddy is claiming these accomplishments during his Kerala campaign while simultaneously criticizing KCR's governance. How does that make sense?"
This controversy erupted following a heated online exchange between Telangana's Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The dispute began on April 3, when Reddy announced that the 'dark age' in Kerala was coming to an end and that a 'golden age' led by the United Democratic Front (UDF) was about to commence.
