In a heartwarming tale of commitment and patriotism, two brothers from Baragaon village in Mandi district have made their family and community proud through their outstanding achievements in public service.
Retired Army veteran Nek Ram Thakur, who hails from Baragaon village under the Drang Post Office in Padhar subdivision, is celebrating a significant milestone as both of his sons have secured esteemed positions in uniformed and public services, reflecting the values of dedication and service that he instilled in them.
The elder son, Saurav Thakur, has successfully completed rigorous training to become a Wing Commander in the Indian Air Force. This accomplishment marks a pivotal moment in his military career, as he prepares to take on crucial responsibilities in protecting the nation's airspace.
Meanwhile, the younger son, Amit Thakur, has also made his mark by being selected as a Section Officer (SO) after excelling in a competitive recruitment process. Previously a constable in the police department stationed in Pakhri, Amit is currently undergoing professional training at the Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA).
To honor this double celebration, Nek Ram Thakur hosted a traditional ‘Dham’ in his village, where family, friends, and local residents gathered to congratulate the brothers and celebrate their impressive achievements.
This family's journey exemplifies how the principles of discipline, integrity, and perseverance fostered in the armed forces can motivate the younger generation to excel in serving the nation. The brothers' accomplishments have not only brought pride to Baragaon village but also serve as a beacon of inspiration for youth aspiring to pursue careers in defense and public service.
